Koopgids De 5 Beste Barolo’s onder de €50 (2025 Editie) voor de Slimme Wijndrinker

Barolo is known worldwide as the “King of Wines” – powerful, complex and elegant. Yet many people think that good Barolo has to cost a lot of money. Fortunately, that’s not true. Even under €50, there are beautiful Barolos that impress with their depth, balance and character. In this guide, we share our 5 favorite Barolos under €50 for 2025, perfect for both the novice and the seasoned connoisseur.

Why Barolo under €50?

The best Barolos are often small productions from top domains, matured on wood and made with great care. As a result, prices can quickly rise. However, there are producers – often from lesser-known Crus or younger vintages – who make high-quality Barolos for a surprisingly accessible price.
At Brunolo.nl we selected these wines with great care, and of course they come directly from Piemonte, without intermediaries. Below our top 5 for 2025.

Bonus: How to choose a good Barolo under €50?

  • Note the vintage: 2016 and 2019 are top years; 2020 is also a nice year, four and a half stars, Barolos with classic characteristics. They are slightly less than the top years 2016 and 2019.
  • Look at the origins: Communes such as La Morra , Barolo and Verduno often produce softer Barolos, while Serralunga and Monforte are more powerful.
  • Domain is more important than price: A good producer still makes very nice Barolos in less good years. The incredible passion of these small winegrowers ensures that very nice Barolos are made every year. Of course, they differ from year to year due to different weather conditions.

Finally
A good Barolo doesn't have to be expensive. With a little knowledge - and the right addresses - you can find real gems under €50.
