Brothers Bruno and Gianni Ciravegna bought the 18th century Cascina Rocca farm in Monforte d'Alba in the early 80s. In 1996 they sold their first Barolos, coming from the Bussia Monforte vineyard. The company is now managed by Gianfranco Ciravegna. The 3rd generation, Andrea and Chiara, is now also working on the company. In total they now have 20 hectares of vineyards. Since 2014 they have certified organic production of their wines.
The vineyard is located in Ornati, a small community that is part of Monforte d'Alba. Total area 12 hectares. The soil type is mainly clay with limestone. The altitudes vary from 320 to 410 meters. The exposure is southeast - south - southwest.
The Bussia vineyard is 1.5 hectares. The soil consists of silty clay with limestone. The altitude varies from 210 to 350 meters. The exposure is south to southwest.
Tenuta Rocca also has vineyards in Bricco San Giubellini and Bricco San Pietro.
The Baudana vineyard in Serralunga and the Corini vineyard in Roddino.
