Product information

Light ruby-red wine with garnet-like glints. On the nose, intense aromas of violets, red cherries, and raspberries, with hints of undergrowth and a pinch of clove. Elegant and pure Nebbiolo aromatic. On the palate, the wine is juicy, with ripe red fruit, fine acidity, and polished, ripe tannins; medium-bodied with a smooth, dry finish.

The Bricco San Biagio vineyard is located in La Morra (Santa Maria hamlet), at an altitude of 200 meters, with an eastern exposure. The vineyard covers a total of 2 hectares. The vines were planted with a density of 4,000 vines per hectare between 2008-2010. The vines are pruned using the Guyot system.

The soil type in the Bricco San Biagio vineyard is dry and very sandy; in La Morra, sandy, calcareous marl (Marne di Sant’Agata) predominates, which contributes to elegance and softer tannins.

The 2024 vintage was fundamentally a good vintage. The biggest challenge was that it rained for weeks on end during the harvest period. As a result, Oddero decided not to produce any 2024 Cru Barolos. The grapes have now found their way into this unique, excellent 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo. Alcoholic fermentation took place over a period of 15 days. Further aging of the wine occurred for a period of 12–18 months in large oak botti of various sizes, after which the wine was bottled. The wine further refines in the bottle in the cellars of the estate.

Best food pairing for Oddero's Langhe Nebbiolo

Piedmontese classics: tajarin al ragù, vitello tonnato, brasato al Barolo. Earthy dishes: risotto ai funghi, porcini, autumnal vegetables, truffle. Meat: veal (ossobuco), slow-cooked beef, poultry with mushrooms. Cheeses: semi-hard and hard cheeses (Toma, older Fontina, Parmigiano). The refined tannins and fresh acidity make this Langhe Nebbiolo versatile at the table.

About Oddero and why Oddero matters:

As an early bottler from the 19th century and guardian of some of the most coveted crus, Oddero is a reference for Barolo with depth, elegance, and aging potential, a house where the finesse of La Morra beautifully interacts with the power of Serralunga and Castiglione Falletto. The company is now run by the 6th generation, while the 7th generation has also already joined.

Wine Journalists' Rating

90/100 Points Parker (2023)

Showing bright primary fruit with redcurrant, white pepper and dried ginger, the Oddero 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is an easy-drinking wine with a fine structure, pretty ruby transparency and subtle background notes of licorice and tar. There's not much to it, but the wine does a good job of delivering freshness and Nebbiolo authenticity. Fruit comes from vineyards in La Morra and Castiglione Falletto,
