Product information

A light ruby-red wine with garnet glints. The nose offers intense aromas of violets, red cherries, and raspberries, with hints of underwood and a touch of clove. Elegant and pure Nebbiolo aromas. On the palate, the wine is juicy, with ripe red fruit, fine acidity, and polished, ripe tannins; medium body with a smooth, dry finish.

The Bricco San Biagio vineyard is located in La Morra (Santa Maria district), at an altitude of 200 meters, facing east. The vineyard covers a total of 2 hectares. The vines were planted at a density of 4,000 vines per hectare between 2008 and 2010. The vines are pruned according to the Guyot system.

The soil type in the Bricco San Biagio vineyard is dry and very sandy; in La Morra, sandy, calcareous marl (Marne di Sant'Agata) predominates, which contributes to elegance and softer tannins.

The 2023 vintage was a classic, balanced harvest for Nebbiolo in the Langhe; at Oddero, the grapes were harvested manually, with strict selection based on quality, during the first ten days of October 2023. Alcoholic fermentation lasted for 15 days. The wine was further aged for 12–18 months in large oak botti of various sizes, after which it was bottled. The wine continues to refine in the bottle in the estate's cellars.

Best Wine and Food Pairing for the Langhe Nebbiolo from Oddero

Piedmontese classics: tajarin al ragù, vitello tonnato, brasato al Barolo. Earthy dishes: risotto with mushrooms, porcini, autumn vegetables, truffle. Meat: veal (osso buco), slow-cooked beef, poultry with mushrooms. Cheeses: semi-hard and hard cheeses (Toma, aged Fontina, Parmigiano). The refined tannins and fresh acidity make this Langhe Nebbiolo versatile at the table.

About Oddero and why Oddero matters:

As an early bottler from the 19th century and guardian of some of the most coveted crus, Oddero is a benchmark for Barolo, offering depth, elegance, and ageing potential. A house where La Morra's finesse beautifully blends with the power of Serralunga and Castiglione Falletto. The company is currently led by the sixth generation, with the seventh generation already on board.

Wine Journalists' Rating

90/100 Points Parker

Showing bright primary fruit with redcurrant, white pepper and dried ginger, the Oddero 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is an easy-drinking wine with a fine structure, pretty ruby transparency and subtle background notes of licorice and tar. There's not much to it, but the wine does a good job of delivering freshness and Nebbiolo authenticity. Fruit comes from vineyards in La Morra and Castiglione Falletto,
